GN Telos 8

The Telos series is a range of full spectrum LED grow lights designed and manufactured in the UK by GN for growing taller plants in both harsh greenhouse conditions and indoor horticulture platforms.  The Telos 8 is the mid-sized grow light in this series, drawing 240W and providing a PPF output of 449.8μmol/s.

Safety Warnings

Thermal Considerations:

  • ! Do not touch the LED system or power supply unit whilst the system is turned on. Turn off the system and allow it to cool down for 45 minutes before handling
  • ! Do not cover the system whilst in use
  • ! Allow a minimum of 30cm clearance on all sides to allow for free flow of air

Hanger Assembly

Hanging Kit Contents:

  • 1) 7x7 PVC coated A4 stainless steel wire rope, one end pre-assembled and tightened with a 5mm A4 stainless steel carabiner hook attached
  • 2) A4 stainless steel wire clamp with wingnut.
  • 3) A4 stainless steel 5mm carbines hooks

GN Telos 8 Hanging Kit Assembly

Self Assembly End: Thread the wire rope through the wire clamp, under the locking plate and round the central pin to create a loop. Adjust the cable length and loop size to your own requirements. If you are mounting onto a frame or bar as opposed to a chain or hook fixture, create the loop around the frame or bar and then thread the rope through the wire clamp and adjust lengths. Once you are happy with the cable length and loop size hand tighten the wingnut. Test the fixture by firmly pulling on both ends, and retighten as necessary.

Installing Luminaire

Hanging Considerations:

  • Hang the Telos fixture at a minimum of 40cm from the top of the plant canopy. Optimal distance from the canopy for indoor top lighting applications is between 60- 80cm (see Photometric Data at top of page) and between 1-2m for greenhouse applications. For large indoor or greenhouse applications please request a custom PPFD design.
  • Ensure the frame or fitting that you are attaching can support the fixture weight. We recommend using fixings and framework that are specified to support 2-3 times the fixture weight minimum to ensure the light is secured correctly.
  • Observe the safety warnings given above and ambient temperature limits specified in the mechanical tab.

Connecting the Input Cable: Align the white arrow on the female connector with the unlocked padlock symbol on the male connector and push the two connectors together until you hear a click and the white arrow is facing the locked padlock symbol.

Disconnecting the power cable for the Telos 8

Disconnecting the Input Cable: Twist the black casing on the female connector anticlockwise until the white arrow is pointing to the unlocked padlock and then pull the two connectors apart.
